I am a Dirty Boy

I don't know where to begin...I was always fascinated with the dirty boy line. Built by Blues Saraseno's dad Alex, they looked like nothing else at the time and they sounded incredible. Unfortunately, they were priced out of reach for the average starving guitarist. Fast forward to the 2020's and the line is being revived by Danny Gomez. The look was the same, the attitude was the same, and the tone was still incredible. Not being a starving guitarist anymore, I decided to take the plunge and am I ever glad I did. The preamp is a work of engineering art. Simple to use, the controls are very intuitive, but where the DB really shines is where it counts, the TONE. This box drips in tone. Other pedals claim to have the feel of an actual amp, this preamp does. Running it through my Hiwatt DR103, an amp with an already incredible tone, took it the next level. I never would have thought I'd say those words, but here we are. The tone was clear with defined note separation, and the bloom is like nothing I've ever heard from a pedal. Turning things up, I was greeted with the smoothest, most harmonicly complex drive I've ever heard in my life. Pushing the volume more, and the floors and walls shook! Hold a note and put a little shake on it, and the note just sang...splitting up beautifully into even order harmonics and octaves. This preamp also takes other drive pedals without losing a beat. So far, I've paired it with my zen drive and lovepedal 200lb fuzz. I can only describe it as god-like. I've always been very happy with my tone and set up and have been told on numerous occasions how good it sounds. With the dirty boy preamp, my tone is going from good to legendary. Realmente consigo sonidos con personalidad propia. Me ha encantado. Los controles permiten conseguir matices que no encuentro en ningún otro amplificador o equipo. Personalmente muy satisfecho.

I only had a short time checking the preamp out so far, but it will stay on my board for sure. My Main amp is a Roland Jazz chorus, and for years i tried find a great distorted tone with pedals as well as pedal amps like the boss ir-2 or rockman. Being a pedal user this is by far the best option i ever had. Feels and plays like an AMP. Like it should! Fantastic!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to add that sound to my arsenal.

Lo recibí hace poco más de una semana y estoy absolutamente enganchado a este pedal. Es el sonido que he estado buscando desde que descubrí a Blues Saraceno y que no he podido conseguir con ningún otro pedal, amplificador, etc. Sin duda va a estar al frente de mi equipo allá donde vaya a tocar. Aparte de todo esto, los materiales se nota que son de calidad y el detalle del pliego con las pegatinas es súper original. Cuidan hasta el último detalle. Connecting to the external input of a small 15W amp and you can get a natural overdrive and appropriate compression of a tube amp. It may feel similar to a Marshall JCM800 with a Strat or Les Paul, but it's smarter. Each string rings glossy in chords. It really matches rhythmic riffs like of Blue Saraceno. Adding an overdrive pedal, you can make a sound like Eric Johnson. I think the best matching is with a Les Paul, but by carefully adjusting not only the gain but also the tone and level, you can make a wide range of over drive according to a pick-up power. The effect of the variac may seem slight, but it has a very important role in adjusting the nuances of over drive. However, even if the maximum gain, you won't get the sound of a modern high-gain amp. It may not a kind of catchy preamp, but if you like playing guitar and like Blues Saraceno music, I think it's worth experiencing this preamp. Also, basic quality as a product is no problem. Excellent.
